Oh, if only all of Australia's Spanish food was as tasty as those at MoVida, where you'll fantastic house-made morcilla (blood sausage), cuttlefish on broad beans and wonderful churros with hot chocolate. Even the narrow, graffiti-lined alleyway has a touch of Madrid to it, and the Spanish wine list is top-notch. The space is warm, the atmosphere vibrant yet relaxed.
MoVida chef & co-proprietor Frank Camorra. was born in Barcelona and spent his first five years in his parents' hometown of Córdoba in Andalusia, before his parents migrated to Australia.
In the year 2000, Frank travelled throughout Spain and was inspired by both the modern and traditional aspects of Spanish cuisine he discovered.
Returning to Australia, Frank was determined to share his inspiration. In fact, MoVida is named after the art and film movement that flourished after the death of the Fascist dictator, Colonel Franco. This exciting innovative era - full of exuberant energy celebrating fun & the Spanish character is also another source that MoVida draws on.
So dining at MoVida you'll discover is relaxed and yet cheerfully determined to be both fun and creative. Where the evening's new dish was inspired by the produce and ingredients that came through the front door in the morning... This is the essence of the MoVida spirit.
